Federal Conservative nominee hopeful loses court bid to delay selection in B.C. riding
Mark Donnelly claims he was unjustly denied entry to the nomination race for the Courtenay-Alberni riding. I'm always amused by these nominees who sue or otherwise want to publicly argue with the party (any party, for that matter). Do these folks envision a future in which they win the legal challenge and then, after forcing the party to pay legal bills and get humiliated in that loss, that the party would then support them in a general election? SMH. In any event, this ruling is consistent with dozens of similar rulings before it; jurists treat political parties as private clubs who are free to make their own rules and adjudicate their own disputes.
