Liberals revoke Nepean MP's candidacy in upcoming federal election

Tom Osborne wins nomination vote to become federal Liberal candidate in Cape Spear
Osborne won a nomination vote Friday night, according to outgoing Liberal MP Seamus O’Regan. Mount Pearl Deputy Mayor Nicole Kieley and aerospace industry executive Victoria Belbin had also sought the nomination. The federal election campaign is expected to begin Sunday. Corey Curtis will be running for the Conservatives. The NDP has not yet nominated a candidate. Riding is new for 2025 but includes most of the riding held by Liberal Seamus O'Regan. Should be a Liberal hold here.

Former NTV reporter Don Bradshaw acclaimed as federal Liberal candidate in Long Range Mountains
The Corner Brook native, who spent 24 years as NTV’s west coast reporter, was confirmed Friday evening on the federal Liberal party’s web site as the nominee in Long Range Mountains. Carol Anstey is running for the Conservatives in Long Range Mountains. The NDP do not yet have a candidate. Anstey, a realtor, ran in 2021, and while she might have expected to win last fall, Long Range Mountains appears to have returned to the Liberal column. Last time anyone but a Liberal won on NL's West Coast was 1984: Joe Price in Burin--St. George's
