And with Canadians already starting to feel the impact of the Republican leader’s tariffs, Heidi Petracek looks at the trickle-down effect and how provinces, businesses and consumers are pushing back. But there aren’t just concerns about the consequence of the trade war on our side of the border. Many Americans are also bracing for the impact of tariffs. Jackson Proskow has more on the U.S. reaction and whether anything could sway Trump.

Trump slaps 25% tariff on all products from Canada and Mexico, 10% on China

They’ll get hit with a 25% border tax, while China, a real adversary, will endure 10%. This reminds us of the old Bernard Lewis joke that it’s risky to be America’s enemy but it can be fatal to be its friend.
