Conservatives nominate former PC cabinet minister to seek federal office in Winnipeg South
Janice Morley-Lecomte will run for the federal Conservatives in the next federal election, said Melanie Maher, the president of the electoral district association for Winnipeg South. This would pit the former MLA against Liberal cabinet minister Terry Duguid. Yet another riding where a Liberal cabinet minister -- a newly minted one at that -- would likely be defeated if an election were held today. My model has Morley-Lecomte winning by 6 points or about 1900 votes right now. Conservative Rod Bruinooge won this riding in 2006, 2008 and 2011 (beating Duguid in 2011) but Duguid won it in 2015, 2019 and 2021. Before that, this was the fiefdom of the late Liberal Reg Alcock who held it from 1993-2006. The NDP, notably have never won this part of the Winnipeg.
Liberals trail Tories in nominations ahead of expected early election
The Liberals say they have 129 candidates nominated out of 343 federal ridings, while the Conservatives say they have close to 221 and the New Democrats say they have 93.
Bloc québécois | Prêt à partir, Jean-Denis Garon se ravise

Americans.

… in 1996: Sc 1600: Greetings Booklet — 3 “Special Occasions”. Quick Stick. Canada on left. Design: Tarzan Communications Graphique Ltd. The idea here was that you could be little round stickers with these stamps and then put your own labels in the centre of the stamp. The labels had “special occasion” designs, like a bride and a groom; some party balloons; a Valentine-like heart and so on. This stamp had a twin: On the other stamp, the Canada banner is on the right.
